Sharon Daly SDG’s UK Managing Director featured in the latest issue of LTT

Sharon Daly our UK Managing Director has been featured in the latest issue of Local Transport Today. Steer Davies Gleave appointed Sharon as its first UK managing director last summer (read more here). In an interview for Local Transport Today she tells Andrew Forster why the new role was necessary and explains SDG’s areas of UK activity.

From A to B via the wonderful world of online journey planners

Despite the existence of national journey planners on Google Maps and other websites, many local authorities and event organisers are commissioning their own local journey planning systems.  

To anyone unfamiliar with the world of journey planning, the existence of these local sites may seem a bit puzzling. If there are journey planners, such as Google Maps, capable of offering a national service, why is there any need for local systems too?

Steer Davies Gleave at ACT Canada's Sustainable Mobility Summit

'Raise the Hammer' website recently reported on ACT Canada's Sustainable Mobility Summit where Steer Davies Gleave consultants Nithya Vijayakumar and Steven Bishop presented. The article 'Transportation and a Healthy Hamilton: A Growing Community Dialogue' summarizes the four day conference, which included a local community event, at which  Nithya Vijayakumar and Steven Bishop spoke.

Province asks public for views on replacing Massey Tunnel, Vancouver Sun

27 November 2012

The Vancouver Sun reports that the province is ready to hear the public's opinion on replacing the George Massey Tunnel. Steer Davies Gleave's report on the economic impacts to Delta was also mentioned in the article along with the suggestion that the tunnel is already operating at capacity during peak periods.

Dominion Boulevard Toll upgrade

26 November 2012

Toll Roads News reports that the City of Chesapeake recently closed on borrowings to finance a major bridge replacement, the Dominion Boulevard, and will soon be selecting a construction firm for this project. Steer Davies Gleave is mentioned in the article as we conducted the traffic and revenue forcasting for the project.
