Changing travel behavior: transferring global best practice to the US

Steer Davies Gleave has implemented over 50 Personalized Travel Planning (PTP) projects, engaging with over half a million households in the UK and Australia. We have also been actively looking for opportunities to trial this approach in the US to see whether the same positive outcomes can be achieved. 

Supporting SCAG's 'Go Human' active transportation campaign

The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) is managing an Active Transportation Safety and Encouragement Campaign — Go Human — to reduce vehicle versus pedestrian and bicycle collisions whilst increasing levels of walking and biking in Southern California.  

Steer Davies Gleave is very excited to have been appointed to develop toolkits and deliver training to four audiences across the region: Elected Officials, Employers, Community Organizations and Transportation and Public Health professionals.  

Encouraging travel behavior change in Green Lake, Seattle

16 November 2015

Steer Davies Gleave implemented a ground-breaking Personalized Travel Planning (PTP) project in the Green Lake neighborhood area of Seattle from May-July, 2015. Working with King County Metro through their 'In Motion' program, this approach used door-to-door outreach to engage participants, adapting a conversation style called 'Motivational Interviewing' from the health sector.

Supporting TDM initiatives in San Diego

The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) has provided regional transportation demand management (TDM) programs and services since 1995.

The TDM program, branded as iCommute, has undergone extensive evaluation over the last year with the help of Steer Davies Gleave.

Innovative TDM solutions for infrastructure
