The application process

Applications for the graduate program are accepted year round, although hiring windows tend to occur only a few times per year. You can apply at any time.

Stage 1

To apply for a graduate position in North America, please complete the online application form and attach your resume and cover letter.

Alternatively, you can email the same documents to or mail them to Human Resources, Steer Davies Gleave, to either our Boston or Vancouver address.

In your cover letter, please include answers to the following three questions:

  1. Steer Davies Gleave prides itself on being at the forefront of debate in the industry. In 150 words or less, please tell us what you think are the key issues in public transit today.
  2. In 150 words or less, please describe how activities outside of your studies (such as work experience or extra-curricular activities) have influenced your personal development.
  3. Again, in 150 words or less, what are your career aspirations and what role can Steer Davies Gleave play in helping you achieve these?

Stage 2

If your application passes the initial screening process, one or more members of our senior consultant team will interview you by telephone. During the interviews and meetings, we will look for evidence of your communication, teamwork, problem solving and organizational skills, technical ability and motivation behind your career aspirations.
